What is the project?
The Camden and Brent Business Climate Challenge is a voluntary energy efficiency programme designed to help future proof organisations by lowering their energy consumption, resulting in reduced energy costs and carbon reduction savings.
The Camden Climate Alliance, Brent Council and The Fitzrovia Partnership have teamed up to deliver this programme and provide free technical support to 125 businesses, with the aim of reducing their energy consumption by 10 per cent over the next year.
The Camden and Brent Business Climate Challenge is a follow on programme from the successful Mayor of London’s Business Climate Challenge 2022-23 which has already supported 220 businesses across London. Businesses that received their recommendation report more than 6 months ago are already on track to reduce their energy use by 9%. Through the Camden Climate Alliance, 46 businesses took part in this programme and 5 businesses exceeded their 10% reduction target to achieve significant energy reductions ranging from 19 to 33 per cent.
We’re now looking to support even more businesses through the Camden and Brent Business Climate Challenge. On this programme businesses will be supported through the programme by our technical partners WSP and Turner & Townsend to understand where energy is being used in their buildings and what steps can be taken to lower energy consumption, including no to low-cost measures through to deeper retrofit. Business grants up of to £10,000 are also available through the Camden Climate Fund to support businesses install recommended energy saving measures.
The programme is being funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and will launch in December 2023 and provide support to businesses up until March 2025.
If you’re interested in cutting energy costs for your organisation this is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed! Secure your place on the programme now.
